GLOBAL G.A.P. is a renowned brand that provides intelligent quality assurance solutions for agricultural businesses. These solutions are based on a portfolio of standards that ensure safe and responsible production processes in agriculture, aquaculture and floriculture. The holistic certification approach was developed in close cooperation with industry experts. GLOBAL G.A.P.'s activities are supported by a rigorous integrity programme and a network of more than 430 GLOBAL G.A.P. member organisations from across the global value chain. In addition, our dedicated capacity building programme provides producers worldwide with practical knowledge of responsible farming practices. This enables them to achieve the necessary certification, meet changing market demands and contribute to international sustainability goals. The GLOBAL G.A.P. solutions are internationally recognised and are among the most respected standards in global trade in agricultural products.

EU-Bio (Volmary) Besch.Nr 69089-32370

The EU Organic Regulation introduced Europe-wide control regulations for organic farms for the first time in 1992. A revised version of the basic organic regulation was adopted in 2018. This has been valid since 1 January 2022 and must be applied by all organic farms. Thanks to the organic certification of our herb and vegetable production in Selm, we are ready for the production of organically certified young plants. Organic certification gives our organically grown products a standardised identification mark. This makes it easier for consumers to choose organic products. Producers only receive organic certification if an authorised inspection body has certified that products have been produced organically. This means that they must fulfil strict conditions for production, processing, transport and storage.

FairTrade

Fairtrade certification is a product certification system in which social, economic and environmental aspects of production are checked against the respective Fairtrade standards applicable to producers and traders. The Fairtrade standards are therefore the set of rules that we as a horticultural company adhere to along the entire value chain between our Kenyan and German operations. These strict standards include social, ecological and economic criteria to ensure sustainable development in countries of the global South. This improves social sustainability and protects the environment in the growing countries. Fairtrade also promotes better working and living conditions for the employees of certified companies. Thanks to the sale of Fairtrade cuttings and young plants, our employees in Kenya benefit from fairer trading conditions and can achieve social and ecological improvements.

MPS-ABC (Kentalya and Fleurantalya)

MPS was founded 25 years ago by Dutch growers with the aim of making the green sector more valuable and sustainable. Environmental certification plays an important role in this and contributes to a strong image for the entire ornamental plant sector. However, MPS-ABC is more than just a certificate. It acts as a monitoring tool that helps growers to pull the right levers to reduce their environmental impact. By recording their consumption, it shows measurably how sustainably the companies produce. This leads to a more conscious use of pesticides, fertilisers and resources. Our companies in Kenya and Turkey can use this data to gradually make their production more sustainable.

MPS-SQ (Kentalya)

Good working conditions are of great importance to many retailers and consumers. With the MPS-Socially Qualified (SQ) certificate, we prove that our company in Kenya fulfils national and international requirements in the area of health and safety. The MPS-SQ certificate is a valuable addition to the MPS-ABC label, especially in times when consumers are increasingly focussing on social aspects as well as environmental criteria.
